Report Validation: Mapping and Analysis of E-Commerce Ecosystem in Nigeria

SUMMARY:

To understand the e-commerce eco-system in Nigeria better,  the regulatory and operational constraints, the SEDIN programme through the Nigeria Competitiveness Project – NICOP in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, commissioned the mapping and analysis of electronic commerce and related policies, regulatory frameworks and market competitiveness in Nigeria. A report of the mapping exercise has been finalized and ready for validation and further discussion with stakeholders. The validation is scheduled to hold virtually on the 20th of August 2020.

OBJECTIVES:

To provide stakeholders opportunity to review and make further inputs into the e-commerce report;

To highlight and discuss specific emerging issues around the regulatory framework of e-commerce in Nigeria and required reforms;

To collate input from private sector actors in the e-commerce eco-system on constraints and required reforms;

To agree on next steps required to address the identified challenges in the e-commerce eco-system in Nigeria.
