Financial Literacy eLearning Project – SEDIN Supports the Central Bank of Nigeria with Educational Materials

Financial Literacy eLearning-Project

As crucial step towards finalising the financial literacy eLearning project, the GIZ “Pro-Poor Growth and Promotion of Employment in Nigeria Programme – SEDIN” handed over training materials to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) at their headquarters in Abuja on Friday, 14 February 2020. The training package consists of both, a learner-centred training and coaching methodology as well as educational materials for trainers and trainees. The materials aim at educating Nigerians on how to make well-informed decisions about their individual, household and business finances.

The Financial Literacy eLearning project is jointly implemented with the CBN on behalf of the Financial Literacy Working Group to further increase scale and scope of financial literacy trainings in Nigeria. The blended eLearning platform “SabiMONI” is currently developed for future financial literacy trainers who will pass on their knowledge to others. In order to become a Certified Financial Literacy Trainer (CFLT), the users have to first pass the 15 online modules before being tested during a physical assessment. Over the next weeks, certified master trainers of the CBN will teach selected members of the Financial Inclusion Steering Committee (FISSCO) on how to become official assessors of future CFLTs.
