SUMMARY:
To understand the e-commerce eco-system in Nigeria better, the regulatory and operational constraints, the SEDIN programme through the Nigeria Competitiveness Project – NICOP in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, commissioned the mapping and analysis of electronic commerce and related policies, regulatory frameworks and market competitiveness in Nigeria. A report of the mapping exercise has been finalized and ready for validation and further discussion with stakeholders . The validation is scheduled to hold virtually on the 20th of August 2020 .
OBJECTIVES:
To provide stakeholders opportunity to review and make further inputs into the e-commerce report;
To highlight and discuss specific emerging issues around the regulatory framework of e-commerce in Nigeria and required reforms;
To collate input from private sector actors in the e-commerce eco-system on constraints and required reforms;
To agree on next steps required to address the identified challenges in the e-commerce eco-system in Nigeria.
