Through its Local Partners, SEDIN Trains 100,000 Beneficiaries in Financial Literacy

Sustainable economic development and the reduction of poverty require access to finance, which allows entrepreneurs to expand their business and create additional jobs. Yet, the lacking access to financial services remains a huge barrier for many Nigerian entrepreneurs. SEDIN works closely with public, private and civil-society organisations to jointly develop solutions that address this challenge in Plateau, Niger and Ogun States. Together with local stakeholders, it developed an innovative financial literacy training methodology and materials that build financial capabilities of MSME and start-up owners, farmers, returning migrants, women and young Nigerians. During the financial literacy trainings, beneficiaries are equipped with the knowledge and skills to manage their individual, household and business finances effectively, to build confidence in using financial services and to strengthen their participation in the formal financial sector. SEDIN expresses its gratitude for the efforts of its partners in the past year and is looking forward to a continued fruitful collaboration in 2020.
